East Devon

  • East Budleigh in Devon
  • Fishing boat on Branscombe Beach
  • Cottage at Branscombe
  • Fishing boats at Beer in Devon

I have a great affinity to this lovely area of Devon, mainly because my grandparents lived here, and we visited them often when I was young.  East Devon has a distinct feel to it, quite different from other areas of the county, and I really enjoy exploring it.  There are the lovely coastal communities, including Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth, Lympstone, Branscombe and Beer, and the inland delights of Colyton, Woodbury, Ottery St. Mary and East Budleigh.  Much of the area has a timeless feel, and it is largely unspoiled and rather charming.  East Devon is also a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It’s definitely an area to lose oneself in, whilst exploring the beautiful scenery, both countryside and coastal.
