Join Us on the Devon Left Right Challenge to Raise Money for Two Great Charities and the Chance to Win a Fantastic Prize! 

The Devon Left-Right Challenge is a charity fund raising event that will take place on Saturday 11th May.  We will be raising money for the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust and the Donkey Sanctuary, two very worthy Devon charities.  The event will consist of the Unique Devon Tours team driving continuously for 12 hours through Devon (starting at 8.00am), taking the next Left or Right turn as nominated by everyone who’s donated, and we’ll see how far we get and where we end up.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this challenge came to me about three years ago when I was on one of my seemingly endless drives through the roads of Devon. The lanes, in particular, with their ancient high hedgerows and somewhat random nature, are something that all of our guests find fascinating. It occurred to me that it would be fun to celebrate and acknowledge our incredible road network with the ‘Devon Left-Right Challenge'.

Terms and Conditions

Definitions

Unique Devon Tours are the organisers of the event and are also referred to as the “events team” within this document. The Devon Left-Right Challenge is also referred to as “the event” within this document.

Charities

All proceeds from The Devon Left Right Challenge fundraising event will be split equally between the following two charities:

  • The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust (Registered Charity No. 1109196). Supporting Dartmoor Hill Farmers in keeping Dartmoor Pony herds on the commons of Dartmoor.
  • The Donkey Sanctuary (Registered Charity Number: 264818). A world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is full.

The Event

The Devon Left-Right Challenge will take place on Saturday May 11th 2019 and will start at a location approximately calculated as the central point in Devon. The event will start at 7.00am and run continuously for 12 hours finishing at 7.00pm. The event will consist of the Unique Devon Tours vehicle taking the next left or right turn in the chronological order on how they were entered into the Unique Devon Tours website form. If we reach the end of the list of “Lefts and Rights” the events team will start back at the beginning. The event team will have the right to make logistical discretional decisions to ensure the smooth running of the event. I.e. deciding what is actually a ‘proper’ left/right turning, not going down dead end roads etc. They will also avoid housing estates and town centres.

In order to potentially widen our travel area, for the last 15 minutes of every hour, the events team will travel in a straight line until the turn of the hour. They will then continue to turn left or right as before.

If the event team unknowingly go down a ‘dead end’ road, they will turn around and return to the original turning. They will then progress in the original direction they were traveling.

All the travelling has to be done within Devon. If the event team reach a border of another county they will do a U-turn and continue their journey.

Donations

All donations will be made through the fundraising page set up at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com. All donations will follow the terms and conditions of https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com.

There is a minimum donation value pf £5.

Competition

Once people have donated, they will receive an email link to a web form where they can complete the relevant data to contribute to the event and also to enter the competition. Everyone who completes the web form and leave a contact email address will be entered into the prize draw competition which will be held on Sunday May 12th.

Only people who have donated money will be able to participate in the prize draw competition.

Prizes

The prize draw will take place within 24 hours of The Devon Left Right Challenge finishing.

People can continue to donate and complete the web form during the actual event and up to 6pm on May 11th. Entries made after that time will not be included.

Only one web form entry per person is allowed.

Due to geographical logistics certain prizes will only be available to UK residents.

Prizes cannot be transferred or cashed in for money.

All prizes are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the relevant provider.

Unique Devon Tours has the final decision on prizes awarded.

Cancellation of Event

In cases of unforeseen circumstances, force majeure or matters that could not be prevented, Unique Devon Tours reserves the right to cancel the planned event. The event would then be rescheduled on another date. Unique Devon Tours is not liable for any costs incurred if the event needs to be cancelled.

Any complaint should be emailed to info@uniquedevontours.co.uk

Unique Devon Tours will respond to any complaint made via email within 48 hours. We will always endeavour to resolve any complaint as it arises, and deal with all issues in a fair and reasonable manner.

Governing Law

This agreement is subject to English Law
