As you would hope, there are many opportunities for shopping in Devon, in pleasant and interesting locations with some great shops, often offering you something a bit different.
Dartington – there is a great array of shops on site at Dartington, ranging from the Bazaar which sells gifts from around the world with an ethnic vibe, a fabulous glass and craft shop, with one of the largest collections of Dartington Glass in England, a well stocked kitchen shop, an excellent delicatessen, and much more besides.
Dartmouth – this town offers a unique shopping experience away from the hustle and bustle of large cities and shopping centres. Explore the fascinating and beautifully located town, and browse the individual shops, in which you will be spoilt for choice, whether you’re interested in fashion, localfood & drink, art galleries (there are over ten art galleries here!) or specialist shops.
Exeter – whether you are looking for large high street names or small intimate shops with specialist items, Exeter is a great place to shop! A compact city, Exeter has some superb boutique shops within a short walk of the High Street. The Castle and Cathedral Quarters feature small independent shops while Princesshay has a great selection of high street names.
The House of Marbles – this is a working glass and games factory set in an historic pottery. Teign Valley Glass and a country store are available for shopping for games, gifts and more, and there is a very nice cafe where you can relax with a cup of tea and slice of cake.
Totnes – Totnes is well known for the charm of its independently owned shops, in which you can buy everything from a walking stick to a didgeridoo. Totnes has a reputation for handmade shoes, bespoke furniture, fine food, boutiques, crystals and crafts, as well as a great selection of cafes and restaurants. It is also famous for just being a bit different and quirky, something you will fully appreciate when you walk up the main street, seeing some of the buildings and characters that reside here.
